Verum No. 7 Jointer Plane

The Verum No. 7 Jointer Plane is the largest in the Verum range and the traditional choice of master craftsmen for achieving true, flat surfaces. Its long 560mm sole glides over low spots and skims high points, producing perfectly level panels, tabletops, and workbenches. Over 100mm longer and 400g heavier than the No. 6 Fore Plane, the added mass makes it ideal for powering through tricky grain and maintaining momentum on long strokes.

Favoured for edge-jointing boards, veneer shooting, and truing large work, the No. 7 offers accuracy and reach where it matters most. It’s the plane to reach for when flatness and precision cannot be compromised.

Designed with Peter Sefton

Each Verum plane is the result of a collaboration between our manufacturer and Wood Workers Workshop’s owner, Peter Sefton — a master craftsman and long-time woodworking educator. His input shaped every detail, from blade geometry to handle ergonomics, ensuring the Verum No. 7 delivers comfort, accuracy, and results worthy of a craftsman’s bench.

Ergonomics & Comfort

Bespoke Bubinga Handle
Shaped and specified by Peter Sefton, the ergonomic rear tote transfers power comfortably while reducing fatigue and blistering during extended use.

Balanced Heft
The 4kg weight and extended length provide the stability and momentum needed for long passes, making large-scale flattening more efficient.

Blade Control & Adjustment

Oversized Adjuster Wheel
Allows easy, precise one-finger depth changes without losing your grip.

Precision Lateral Adjuster
The engineered brass tab and tight-tolerance bearing keep the blade firmly aligned — no drift, no frustration.

Minimal Setup Required

Build Quality & Performance

Bedrock Frog
Fully supports the blade and allows quick mouth adjustment without removing the iron, eliminating chatter and speeding up setup.

3mm Low-Profile Cap Iron
